Be it known to all whom these presents may concern that according to an Act of Assembly passed May 1797 entitled an act for emancipation of slaves that I Rich’d Hill of Bath County do give up all my right, title or interest to the persons & properties of my negroes (or any property that they may hereafter acquire) as follows: Job to be free at the age of twenty five years, which will be the sixth day of March eighteen hundred & fifteen, Stephen to be free at the same age which will be in the year eighteen hundred & eighteen the tenth day of July. Witness my hand & seal this 21st day of May 1796.
