To all whom it may concern know ye that I Kitty Donnelly of Bath County and State of Virginia for divers causes me thereunto moving have liberated and forever emancipate a certain negro woman named Betty and do forever discharge her from all service that might be claimed by me or any other person or persons claiming for me, or in my name, to the intent that she the same Betty may enjoy full and perfect freedom from all service that might be claimed by me or any person acting for me or in my name in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of April one thousand seven hundred & ninety eight 1798.
