I Landon Silman of the County of Rappahannock in the state of Virginia make and declare this my will: It will be short and without formality or ceremony and 1st or to my estate, whatever this may be at the time of my death both real and personal I give unto Elizabeth Settle the daughter of Frances Settle who lives with me at the time. Except my boy George who is to be set free at the death of Elizabeth Settle, and 2nd Miss Gemima Reynolds who also lives with me is to remain with the said E. Settle and receive a support as long as she lives, out of my estate.
In witness whereof, I Landon Silman do hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this [blank] July in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty one (1851).

In Rappahannock County Court January 9th 1865
This last will of Landon Sillman deceased was this day produced to the court by the oaths of Melinda Murphy and Lewis Anderson the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And at a court held for said county on the 11th day of April 1865 this last will of Landon Silman deceased was again produced to the court and on the motion of Elizabeth Settle, administration with the said last will annexed of Landon Silman deceased is granted to the said Elizabeth Settle who made oath thereto and together with William G. Bogg her security, who justified on oath as to his sufficiency, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars, conditioned as the law directs.
