This deed made the 17th day of March in the year 1851 between Polly Sayers and Corolomon. Witnesseth that in consideration of the good demeanor of said Corolomon the said Polly Sayers doth hereby emancipate and make him free, and the said Polly Sayers covenants after this deed shall have been recorded the said Corolomon owe service or labour to no person whomsoever. Witness the following signature and seal.

Virginia: Wythe County to wit
I Anderson Howard a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and State of Virginia do certify that Polly Sayers whose name is signed to the writing above bearing date on the 17th day of March 1851 has acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid. Given under my hand this 19th day of March 1851.

Virginia: In the Clerk’s office of Wythe County Court the 22nd day of March 1851.
This deed of emancipation from Polly Sayers to Corolomon was returned to said office and with the certificate of acknowledgment annexed admitted to record.
