Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Crow of Wythe County, Virginia for humane causes do hereby emancipate and release from slavery Nell a negro woman upwards of thirty years of age, and do in behalf of myself and heirs relinquish all manner of claim to her and any children she may hereafter have forever. And no mistake or error herein shall have any affect ever to enslave the said negro woman Nell or any child or children she may hereafter have. Witness my hand and seal this 16th day of June 1804.

Wythe June Court 1804 This deed of emancipation from Thomas Crow to Nell a black woman was acknowledged in court by the said Thomas Crow and ordered to be recorded.

I Robert Crockett of Wythe County Virginia do hereby obligate myself my heirs &c to pay all damages & costs in any action or suit that may hereafter be brought or commenced by Nell a negro woman late the property of Thomas Crow against the said Thomas Crow or any of his family, or connection whatever for any wrong or injury by them done to the said negro woman Nell. Witness my hand & seal this 16th day of June 1804.
