Know all men by these presents that I Margaret Thompson for and in consideration of the long and faithful service of my negro slave Joseph aged near fifty years do by this deed emancipate, set free and forever release from all claim to service to me or my heirs the said slave Joseph. Witness my hand and seal Feb 10th 1851.
