Be it known to whom these presents may concern that according to the laws of Virginia authorizing the manumission of slaves. I Elias Harman of Giles County Virginia from the said authority being fully persuaded that freedom is the natural right of all mankind that God of one blood created all nations (Africa not excepted) conscious that it is my duty to do to all mankind as I would they should do to me, and having under me several negro slaves whom I have held hitherto as such namely Nelson who was bornabout the year of 1792, Dinah who was born about the year 1785, and Dolly who was born about the year 1800. I do hereby emancipate and set free the above named slaves and I do for myself my heirs executors administrators relinquish all and every right title interest and claim or pretention of claim whatsoever either to their persons or estate which they may hereafter acquire, and it is my wish that they enjoy that full freedom without interaction from me or any persons claiming by from or under me.
