I Peter Boon of Franklin County and State of Virginia do make my last will and testament in the following manner to wit: First I desire that all my just debts be paid. 2ndI give unto my wife Catharine Boon a piece of my land, which is bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on [?Magety?] Creek at the mouth of Fleming Boons spring branch thence up the same to the old crop fence on the ridge thence up the ridge to the old line and with it to East to the said Creek thence up the same as it meanders to the beginning so as to leave Shillings Hollow on her side, which she is to hold during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or marriage my son Isaac is to have the said land and premises to him and his heirs forever and he the said Isaac Boon to take care of his mother and provide for her as long as she lives and enjoy the profits of the same after providing for his mother. 3rdI give unto my son Fleming Boon the balance ofmy land on the North side of [?Magety?] Creek to him and his heirs forever. I give unto my son Cornelius Boon one hundred dollars to be raised out of my estate together what he has received in advance. I give unto my son Jacob Boon one hundred dollars to be raised out of my estate together with what he has received in advance. I give unto my daughter Susan Campbell one hundred dollars to be raised out of my estate together with what she has received in advance. I give unto my daughter Mary Harrold one hundred dollars to be raised out of my estate together with what she has received in advance. I give unto my reputed son Oley Boon one hundred dollars to be raised out of my estate together with what he has received in advance. I further give unto my wife Catharine Boon all my stock of horses, cows, hogs and sheep together with my household and kitchen furniture and plantation tools during her natural life and at her death to go unto my son Isaac Boon for him to enjoy forever. I further give unto my wife Catharine Boon my negro girl Anna to enjoy during her natural life and at her death she at the death of my wife together with her increase if any to be sold and divided between Cornelius Fleming, Jacob Isaac Boon and daughters Susan Campbell & Mary Harrold and the balance of my estate both real and personally to be sold and after paying the above legacies the balance if any to be equally divided between my children. I in a special manner direct that my negro or mulatto man Howell Lewis be set at liberty and I hereby set him free provided he leaves this state in twelve months after my death if not he is to belong to my estate. Lastly I appoint my son Isaac Boon and friend John Athens Sr Executors to this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former wills andtestaments by me made. At a court held for Franklin County the 3rdday of March 1851. This last will and testament of Peter Boon dec’d was produced in court and proved by the oaths of John Bowman and George Kesler two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded: and leave was granted the Executors named in said will to qualify when he shall think fit. And at a court held for the said County the 5thday of March 1851, Isaac Boon the subscribing Executor herein named appeared in court and refused to take upon himself the burden of the execution of the said will. And on the motion of Lewis B. Taylor who made oath and gave bond and security according to law certificate was granted him to obtain letters of administration with the will annexed of the said Peter Boon dec’d in due form.
