This deed made this 17thday of June 1857 by & between Moses Edmiston, George Edmiston, James Edmiston, and John Edmiston, Witnesseth that the said parties and the said Moses Edmiston Guardian of John Edmiston for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars partly decreed to be paid to us do hereby emancipate and set free forever a negro man slave named Jacob of whom John Edmiston our father dec’d seized and who was assigned to his widow Mary Edmiston (who has since intermarried with Jezreel Harmon) as dower and the said Jezreel Harmon has emancipated said slave so far as the dower right of his said wife is concerned. We having the reversionary right to said slave do hereby fully complete and perfect and perfect the emancipation of said slave and set him at liberty as a free man free from the claims of ourselves, and our heirs forever.
