This deed made by Thompson Atkins witnesseth that on the 8 day of November 1854 for a valuable consideration rendered me by my slave Billy known as William Blackward, I the said Thompson Atkins by a deed of that date intend to emancipate & set free the said slave Billy & his wife Eliza, and I do hereby confirm said deed of emancipation and do forever emancipate & set free the said slave Billy & Eliza.
