Know all men by these present that I George Washington Parke Custis for divers good Causes and Considerations we thereunto moving Have Liberated Emancipated and manumitted and by true presents Do Liberate Emancipate and manumitt Louisa a Child about two years old the Daughter of Judith one of the Slaves in the Dower of the last Mrs. Martha Washington and lately resided at Mount Vernon and I do by these presents discharge and Release the said Louisa and any issue she may have from all Service to be rendered by her or then unto me the said George Washington Parke Custis my Heirs Executors Administrators assigns. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this first day of March one thousand eight hundred and three.

This Deed of Manumission from George Washington Park Custis to Negro Louisa was proved by the Oath of James Keith and Thomas R Kieth to be the act and deed of the said George W. P. Custis and ordered to be recorded. Teste G. Denrale, Cl.
