Text of Freedom Document
Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Lundy of the County of Grayson and State of Virginia, in consideration of the hitherto dutiful and obedient conduct of my son William Lundy, have and do by these presents set free, forever discharge from all manner of service, the said William Lundy, and all claim and demand in and to any property, whether real or personal, which the said William Lundy may have acquired by gift and or from his own industry. I hereby release, and relinquish unto him and his heirs forever free from all and every claim or demand which I might have thereto; and also to any other property of what kind except which may be acquired by the said William Lundy between this time and his arrival at age of twenty one years; herby permitting the said William Lundy to act and as for himself to all intents and purposes, and as fully and completely as if he were now of the age of 21 years. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 3 day of March 1841.
