Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Shearman of the County of Pulaski and State of Virginia being the owner of a negro man slave named Isaac aged about fifty three years who having been a faithful servant and now desiring to be liberated for reasons satisfactory to myself I am willing he shall before now in consideration of the premises I have by these presents emancipated and set free the said negro man slave Isaac and forever exempted him from involuntarily servitude. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of March 1848.

Virginia: at a court held for the County of Pulaski on the 4th day of May 1848. This deed of emancipation from Jacob Shearman to Isaac a negro man slave dated the 10th day of March 1848 was presented in court proven to be the act and deed of said Shearman by BF Wynn and James M Henderson subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
