Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Wilson of the County of Henry and State of Virginia for and in consideration of the dutiful conduct and former faithful services of my negro man slave Jacob now about fifty years of age, and moreover believing from the bequest and meritorious habits of Jacob that he will demean himself as a good and respectable citizen wheresoever he may reside, therefore and in consideration of the premises I do hereby manumit and for ever set free the said slave Jacob by for my self my heirs executors admrs and assigus relinquishing all right, claim, or title to the personal services of him the said Jacob or any property real or personal which he may hereafter acquire. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of September one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.

The foregoing deed from Thomas Wilson manumitting his negro man slave named Jacob was acknowledged by the said Thomas Wilson to be his voluntary act and deed, whereupon the said was duly admitted to record.
