Know all men by these presents that I William See of the County of Floyd and state of Virginia from motives of benevolence have manumitted and set free from slavery and do hereby manumit and set free from slavery my negro man Lot aged fifty years And I do hereby give grant and release unto the said Negro man named Lot all my right title and claim of in and to his person labor and services and of in and to all [illegible] and property which he may here after acquire or obtain. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 29th day September and in the year of Christ 1847

At the October Term of Floyd County Court 1847
This deed of Emancipation from Willam See Sr to his negro man Lot was proved by the oath of Featherstone Akers and James Via and continued after further proof and at the November Term of said Court 1847 the same was further fully proved by Ira Howard and ordered to be recorded
