In the name of God Amen. I Woodson Wright of the County of Caroline and State of Virginia being of sound & perfect mind & memory, considering the uncertainty of the mortal life, do make & publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I wish all of my just debts to be paid from collections of bonds & other evidence of debts due me.
Second I give to Casandra & her three children viz Frances Thomas & Betty their liberty & freedom forever, and I also give to Dandridge and Hartswell, James & Lucy Ann their liberty & freedom for ever, having emancipated them the said Casandra & her three children Frances, Thomas & Betty, also Dandridge, Hartswell, James & Lucy Ann as I have herein above stated. I give to Casandra the sum of two thousand dollars to be paid to her out of my estate. I give to her daughter Frances & Betty each the sum of one thousand dollars and to Thomas son of Casandra the sum of one thousand dollars. I also give to Dandridge, Hartswell & Lucy Ann each the some of two hundred dollars & to James the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid to them out of my estate by my executors herein after named.
3rd I give to my niece Mildred J. Wright a servant named Kitty to her & heirs forever.
4th I lend to my brother Minor Wright during his life a negro boy known as little George and after his my brother Minors death, I give the same to theirs of my sister Lucinda Oliver.
5th The remainder of my estate not herein disposed of I do these hereunto lend to my brother Horace & sister Betsey during their natural lives and after their death I give & bequeath the same to the children of my sister Lucinda Oliver that may be living at that time to them and their heirs forever.
I have herein emancipated Casandra Frances Thomas Betty, James Dandridge Hartswell and Lucy Ann my wish and desire is that they be permitted to remain in Virginia if it be feasible for them to do so.
I desire that my brothers Horace and Stephen Oliver & my nephews Robt B. Oliver and Willy Oliver share as their protectors and if they are permitted & remain in Virginia, I further in addition to what I have already given to her, give to Casandra the land purchased of Lewis & John Carneal containing about one hundred & fifty acres as a home for her & her children and her mother, Hartswell, James & Lucy Ann if Casandra chooses for them to remain with her.
Lastly I appoint Horace Wright Stephen Oliver & Robt B. Oliver Executors to my last will. I wish them not to be required to give security to any bond which they have to give as my executors.

A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Woodson Wright dec’d was produced in court and Edgar McKinney & Geo R Taylor being duly sworn deposed that they are well acquainted with the hand writing of the said Woodson Wright & that they verily believe that the whole of said paper with the signature thereto is wholly in the hand writing of the said Woodson Wright dec’d whereupon it is ordered that the said paper be admitted to record as the last will and testament of Woodson Wright dec’d.
