Know all men by these presents that I George Geiger in consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged & for divers other good causes me thereto moving have emancipated & set free & at liberty & do by these presents emancipate & set free & at liberty for ever a certain negro woman named Sally Jackson heretofore my property & do hereby authorize and permit the said Sally Jackson to act & to be to all interests henceforth & forever as a free woman releasing to her all right of future [illegible]. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand & seal this 23rd day of Jany 1841.
