"June the 4th 1823 I Dabney White of Nelson County being in a capacity which renders me incapable of providing for my children as I could wish do this day liberate my oldest son Eliston White now about eighteen years of age to act for himself in any kind of business as he may choose to follow to bargain for or with any mechanic, planter, farmer, & receive his wages for his own use & benefit from this time forth.
