I Caleb Manning of the County Brunswick & State of Virginia do hereby set free from bondage the several slaves hereafter mentioned (viz) one negro man named Roger, & one negro woman named Sally to be free the twenty fifth day of next December with the future increase of the said Sally, and do for myself my heirs Executors & Administrators and assigns release unto the said negroes at the above mentioned date all my right & all my claim whatsoever as to their persons or any estate they may acquire hereby declaring the said negroes absolutely free without any interruption from me or any person or persons claiming under me at the above date. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this eleventh day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven.
