Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Harris of the County of Powhatan for divers good causes and considerations me thereto moving have by these presents emancipated and set free Lucinda, a small mulatto girl, daughter of Hannah about five years old, and I do hereby for myself and my heirs, relinquish all my estate, right, title and interest in and to the said Lucinda and her increase. In testimony I hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 17th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.

At a court held for Powhatan County the 21 day of April 1796. This deed of emancipation from Thomas Harris to Lucinda was presented in court and acknowledged by the said Thomas Harris and was thereupon by the court ordered to be recorded.
