Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Harris of the County of Powhatan for divers good causes and considerations me thereto moving do hereby emancipate and set free the following slaves to wit Rachel a negro woman about twenty seven years old, and her two children to wit Wilson about three years old, and Judith about one year old, and I do hereby for myself and my heirs relinquish all my estate, right, title and interest in and to the said slaves, and then increase. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 17th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.

At a court held for Powhatan County the 21 day of April 1796. This deed of emancipation from Thomas Harris to the within mentioned Rachel, Wilson, and Judith was presented in open court and acknowledged by the said Thomas Harris and thereupon by the court ordered to be recorded.
