Know all men by these presents that I Charles M Gibson of Fauquier County and State of Virginia have manumitted and set free and by these presents do manumit and set free my negro man slave Nelson Jackson. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of November 1855.

Fauquier County to wit:
I John J Ashby, a Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do certify that Cha’s M Gibson whose name is signed to the writing above bearing date on the 1st day of November 1855 has acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this 1st day of November 1855.

This deed was presented to Court and having been acknowledged by C Gibson before a Justice of the Peace ordered to be recorded.
