I Inman Homer of the County of Fauquier and State of Virginia for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid do hereby emancipate my slave Richard Thornton, son of Sonny Ingram dec’d he being a mulatto and aged between twenty one and twenty two. Given under my hand and seal this 5th day of September 1854.
