To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I William Coppedge of the County of Fauquier in the State of Virginia for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have and by these presents do emancipate, liberate and set free Grace a female slave whom I formerly purchased from a certain Haden Edwards of the County of Stafford in the State aforesaid. And I do hereby for my self and my heirs and all claiming or to claim from, by or under me or them fully and freely discharge her the said Grace from any further service and do emancipate her to all intents and purposes as fully as if she had been born free. Witness my hand and seal this [blank] day of [blank] 1793.
