I John Baker of the County of Goochland a free man of colour having two children in possession who are slaves under the laws of the state, to wit Hannah Baker aged eight years and John Baker aged about five years, my children and fearing lest some one might make claim to them after me. Therefore I do hereby emancipate and set free the said Hannah Baker and John Baker and do for myself my heirs executors and administrators relinquish all my right, title, interest and claim to them or either of their persons as slaves without interruption from me or any person or persons claiming for or under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my signature and annexed my seal, this 10th day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and four.
