I Tho’s M. Fleming of the County of Goochland have this day granted and confirmed unto Ceasar a negro man slave lately purchased of George Webb of the same county his freedom, for an in consideration of his faithful services, and do oblige myself, my heirs, Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend unto the said negro Ceasar his freedom against the claim right or title of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of June 1797.

This deed of manumission from Thomas M. Fleming to his negro man slave named Ceasar who is over the age of forty five years was presented in court and proved by the oaths of Walter Clopton and George Webb to be their act and deed of the said Thomas M Fleming and ordered to be recorded.
