To all to whom these presents may come greeting.
Know ye that I Archibald Gary Randolph of Goochland County for divers good causes, me hereunto moving, but more especially for the many and faithful services rendered to me by my negro woman Nanny, do by these liberate set free and emancipate the said nanny, from all further presents or future services as my slave and do hereby warrant to the said Nanny a free discharge & total exoneration from the personal service to me and my heirs, Executors or administrators or any person claiming under me. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this [blank] day of November one thousand seven hundred and ninety six.

At a court held for Goochland County on the 15th day of April 1797
This deed of emancipation was presented in court & proven by the oaths of William Miller & Frederick Bates to be the act & deed of AG Randolph which was ordered to be recorded.
