I Elizabeth Tucker Pleasants of the County of Goochland having in my possession a negro boy named Cupid Dean aged fourteen years and believing that all mankind have a natural inherent right to freedom, I do therefore emancipate and set free the aforesaid Cupid Dean, when he shall arrive to the age of twenty one years, without any interruption from me, or any person, or persons, claiming for, by, from, or under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 20th day of the second month in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four 1794.
