To all whom these presents shall or may concern know ye that I Paul Meachum of the County of Goochland for divers causes and considerations, have and do by these presents liberate and emancipate my man Harry and do vest him with all the rights, privileges, and immunities of a free born citizen so far as the laws usages and customs of the Commonwealth will admit of, and I do hereby for myself, my heirs, Exers and Admn declare and make known that henceforth the said slave is free from the bondage of me or my Representatives and that from the day of the date hereof I relinquish my claim accordingly. Given under my hand and seal this 22nd day of August 1793.

At a court held for Goochland county the twenty first day of October 1798
Nathaniel Massie proved this deed of manumission to be the act and deed of Paul Meachum which was continued for further proof.
