Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Davis of the County of Fluvanna being possessed of Sarah a female slave, and her children, to wit, Samuel, William, John, Keniah, Thomas, Logan, and Nathaniel, the property of me this Thomas Davis, and being desirous of giving them their freedom, do by these presents emancipate, and forever set free the above mentioned slaves from the date hereof, given under my hand and seal this 3rd day of September 1795.

At a Court held for Fluvanna County the 3rd day of September 1795. This deed of emancipation was this day in open court acknowledged by Thomas Davis party thereto to be his act and by the court ordered to be recorded.
