Know all men by these presents that I James Scott (illegible) of Amelia County in the state of Virginia by virtue of the Act of Assembly in that case made and provided do hereby emancipate and set free from bondage my wife Suckey (having legally purchased the afsd Suckey) and do by these presents for myself my heirs Executors Administrators and assigus grant release and forever quit claim to the said Suckey to all my rights title interest and all claim whatever to the property person or any estate she may have or may hereafter have hereby declaring the said Suckey to be absolutely emancipated and free without any interruption let hindrance or impediment whatever from me or any person or persons claiming by from or under me.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and three.
