This indenture made this twenty third day of May and year of Christ one thousand eight hundred and three witnesseth that I John Brunskill of Amelia County do by these presents emancipate and set free the following negro slaves to wit, Mingo, Kate, Betty, Elce, Fanny, Lucy & [?Pat?], I do hereby relinquish all my right title and interest in the said negroes and declare them and their future increase to be as fully and completely free as the laws of this commonwealth will permit them to be. As witness my hand and seal this day and date first above mentioned.

At a Court held for Amelia County the 22nd September 1803
This deed of emancipation from Jn Brunskill to sundry slaves was proven by the oaths of the witnesses thereto subscribed and was ordered to be recorded.
