I James Johnson of Louisa Country being of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Elizabeth Moorman, one feather bed and furniture, one low and calf which is now in her possession. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Mary Terrill, one feather bed and furniture one cow and calf which is now in her possession. Item I give unto my daughter, Susanna Clark, one feather bed and one cow and calf which is now in her possession. I give and bequeath to my son, Micajah Johnson, one bed and furniture which is now in his possession. I give and bequeath unto my son, James Johnson, one feather bed and furniture which is now in his possession. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Agnes Johnson, one feather bed and furniture, one cow and calf when demanded. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Cecelia Johnson one feather bed and furniture, one cow and calf when demanded. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucy Johnson one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf when demanded. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Massie Johnson one bed and furniture, one cow and calf when demanded. Item it is my will and desire that my four youngest daughters shall we maintenance out my estate as long as they shall live with their mother or till they marry. Item I lend to my beloved wife Lucy Johnson during her widowhood or life the land whereon I now live with all my Negroes, stock and every other part of my estate not already given during the above mentioned time. Item I give unto my two sons Micajah and James after the death or marriage of my wife the land whereon I now live to be equally divided between them by such men as they shall choose to them and their heirs and assigns forever, item it is my will and desire that after the death or marriage of my life that all my Negroes shall have their right to freedom when they arrive to lawful age or twenty-one years and if any should be born hereafter it is my will that they shall have right to freedom when they shall arrive to the aforsd. Item I give unto my four youngest daughters ten pounds apiece before the division of my estate and if either of them should die before they are in possession of wheat I have given then it is my will that that part of my estate left them shall be equally divided between the survivors to them their heir and assigns forever. Item it is my will that after the death of my wife that all the rest of my estate lent her and already given shall be equally divided between all my children to them and their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly I appoint my wife executrix and Zachariah Moorman, George Bell, and Catlet Jones my lawful executors. In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of the 2nd month 1785.
