Know all men by these presents that I Daniel Howe of the County of Montgomery and State of Virginia for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving have emancipated and set free and do by these presents emancipate and set free my negroe man slave named Santee, from all or any species of slavery or bondage to which he may heretofore have been subjected by the laws of this Commonwealth. Given under my hand and seal this 6th day of December 1803.

This deed of emancipation from Daniel Howe to Santee his slave was acknowledged in Court by the said Daniel Howe and thereupon ordered to be recorded.
