I John Gallaghar of the County of Allegheny & State of Virginia, do for and in Consideration of the faithful services of my servant Robert Brown as well as in Consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars to me in hereof paid by the said Robert Brown, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby, for my self and my heir Exors and admin Manumit and set free my said servant Robert Brown, hereby relinquishing all my right, title, and intent in and to the said slave Robert Brown, and Hereby manumitting and setting free the said Robert Brown, free from my services and Contracts, and no longer under my Contracts or that of my heirs or any other person whatsoever.
In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th day of November 1846.

This Deed of Emancipation from John Gallaghar to his Servant Robert Brown, a man of Color, was this day produced in Court, and proved by the oath of James M Montague, William T Clark, and William Skeen, the subscribing witnesses thereto, and to the due acknowledgement of the said John Gallaghar, and the same is ordered to be recorded.
