I Micajah Chiles of Albemarle County Fredericksville parish do make the following testamentary disposition of all my estate to the Real and personal to Wit – To James Coleman son of Julius Coleman I give the Sum of fifty pounds to be paid him at Such time as my executors herein named may find it convenient to the circumstances of my estate, provided that the payment thereof Shall not exceed three years after my decease To Micajah Washington Chiseman son of Hannah Chiseman of the Town of Charlottesville I give the Sum of forty pound to be applied by my executors in educating him in Such Manner as they in their discretion may think proper, To Nancy Chiseman Daughter of the aforesaid Hannah I Give the Sum of forty pounds to be applied by my executors to her use when [?] may require and the Judgement of my Said executors may Direct, To Jane Carr Daughter of John Carr of Charlottesville I. Give the Sum of ten pounds. To Henry Fleming West Alberty my reputed Son I Give and bequeath two mahogany Tables one bed and furniture six chairs such as he may Chose, my sorrel horse with a bridle and Saddle and my Watch. It is my Will and I do hereby direct that my executors herein named make Sale of all my estate both real and Personal Lotts houses and Lands upon Such a credit as will in their Judgements enable them to obtain the highest prices for the same, and they are hereby authorized and impowerd to make to the Purchaser or purchasers good and Sufficient titles to the Same, It is my will that all the money arrising from the Sales of my estate be paid by my executors to Henry Fleming West Alberty my reputed son at the time he arrives to the age of twenty three years, or sooner, if in the opinions of my said executors it may be Safe to commit to his care the estate hereby given him, It is my will and I hereby direct, that at my decease for the [illegible] faithful Services my Slaves, Frank Marks Fanny and Bridget, be discharged from all future claim of Services, and they are hereby after the Period aforesaid liberrated and made free so that they Shall enjoy all the priviledges of freed People
all and every Species of my estate not herein before disposed of by way of Specific legacies or in trust to my executors to sell, I Give and bequeath unto Henry Fleming West Alberty my Reputed Son, and my executors are directed Pay into the hands of the Said Henry Fleming West Alberty the Interest accruing upon the sales of my estate by way of Support until he arrives to the age of twenty three years if in their Judgements it would be dangerous to possess him of the principal Sum, at an earlier period. It is further directed that in case all or either of my Slaves beforementioned Should either from age or infirmity or accident be rendered incapable of obtaining a Subsistance by their labour that my executors [word blotted, maybe to cover error] of my estate allow such impotent person or persons such Sum or Sums as they may think necessary for his or her or their Support and a power is hereby given them to provide against such an event, in such way as to them shall Seem least liable to objection. my executors are earnestly requested to make a Speedy Collection of my Debts, and out of the money so collected pay such as may appear to be due from me to others, I constitute my Friends Chiles Terril and Thomas Walker Lewis the only executors of this my last will and testament, and I do hereby revoke all will by me heretofore made, and declare this to be the only true one, this ninth day of January 1799
