Know all men by these present, that I Henry Kirby of Halifax County, for divers causes me thereunto moving do Emancipate and set free the following Negro Girl To Wit Amy Squire_aged nice years old And it is my will & desire that the said Amy and all her posterity should be free & enjoy all the liberties and privileges that the Laws of this land allows them. In witness where of I have here unto set my hand & seal this 18th day of June 1797.
