Know all men by these Presents that I James Wimbush of Charlotte County Virginia for Diverse Causes me there unto moving do now emancipate and set free a Certain Mullatto man slave named William Furguson Agreeable to an Act of Assembly in that leave (or case) made and provided, and in my desire that the (said) William Furguson should be a free man and enjoy all the rights and Privileges he is entitled to by the Law of the land given and set my hand (and) seal this 16th day of March 1786.
