Know all men by those presents that I Edward Almond of the County of Charlotte and State of Virgnia do hereby manumit Emancipate and set free to all intents and purposes: from all kinds and degrees of servitude due to me, my heirs and assigns forever according to the Law of the State; the following Negroe Slaves, at the times hereafter mentioned. That is to say Toney a Man about Twenty five years old free at this time. Rose a Woman shall be free next December, who is now about twenty four or twenty five years old. Easter, a Woman shall be free in the Month of December, one thousand seven hundred and ninety five who is now about seventeen years old. Edmund a Man shall be free in the month of December one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine, who is now about fourteen years old. Lucy a Woman shall be free in the month of December, one thousand eight hundred and one, who is now about twelve years old. Frank a Man shall be free in the month of December eighteen hundred and six, who is now about seven years old. Nancy a Woman shall be free in the month of December eighteen hundred and ten, who is about three years old. Milly a Woman shall be free in the month of December eighteen hundred and thirteen, who is now a few months old. Given under my hand and seal, this Eight day of April in the year one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight.

In a Court Continued and held for Charlotte County the 8th day of April 1788. This written Instrument Emancipating Toney, Rose, Easter, Edmund, Lucy, Frank, Nancy, and Milly, negroe Slaves belonging to Edward Almond, of the said County and by the Oath of Edward Elam, appeared to the Court to be of the seaveral Ages as in the said writing is [unknown], was acknowledged in Court by the said Edward Almond to be his act and Deed, and on his motion is admitted to Record.
