Know all men by these presents that I, James H Terrell of the County of Albemarle, and State of Virginia, for
and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars in hand paid or secured to me by Major Garnett the
husband of my negro woman slave named Priscilla, have emancipated and set free and do by these presents,
emancipate and set free the said negro woman slave named Priscilla, in as full and ample a manner as is
allowed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal this 2nd day of October 1841. James H Terrell (Seal)
