Whereas Mary I Oldham by her will which has been duly recorded in Albemarle County Court and of which
the undersigned Meriwether L Anderson is executor - made the following provision viz. "I desire and direct
that my negro man Sachel be emancipated and set free provided he shall within twelve months after my death
in some form indicating his desire - elect to be free in which event I direct that my Executor hereinafter named
- do by a proper dead for that purpose emancipate and set him free." - And whereas within the said twelve
months the said Sachel has in a form satisfactory to the undersigned - elected to be free. Now therefore I
Meriwether L Anderson Executor of Mary I Oldham deceased - do hereby emancipate and set free the said
negro man Sachel in as full and ample a manner as I can do so in pursuance of said will and under the laws of
the Commonwealth of Virginia. Given under my hand and seal this 2nd of March 1857.

At a Court held for Albemarle County 2d March 1857. This Deed was produced into Court and being
acknowledged by Anderson Executor was ordered to be Recorded.
