Know all men by these presents that I Gessner Harrison of the County of Albemarle, State of Virginia, for reasons to me satisfactory, have this day manumitted a female mulatto child, named Becky or Becca, the daughter of my servant man Charles, for which a title was made to me by Mr John Gilmer, dated May 7th 1849 and by these presents do manumit her from & after this 7th day of October 1851. In witness whereof, I have hereto affixed my hand & seal this 7th day of October 1851.

In the Clerkâs Office of Albemarle County Court the 7th Oct. 1851. This deed was this day presented to me in said office, and being acknowledged by Gessner Harrison, was thereupon admitted to record.
