Know all men by these presents that I William Isaacs of Albemarle County VA for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear to my wife Nancy, whom I purchased of Major Isaac Curd of said county, also for and in consideration of the like and affection I bear to my two daughters Mary Ann Harriet and Catharine Isaacs who are also daughters of the said Nancy as well as for the further consideration of the three dollars to me in hand paid by the said Nancy [,] Mary Ann Harriet [,] Catharine at the ensealing and delivery of these presents (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Nancy, Mary Ann Harriet, and Catharine, their freedom from all service, claim right and title to me, my heirs assigns or legal representatives forever. And the said William Isaacs for himself his heirs, legal representatives or assigns, the said freedom unto the said Nancy, Mary Ann Harriet, and Catharine, against the claim of heir the said William Isaacs his heirs to and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever, shall and well warrant and forever defend them by these presents – In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of October 1839.
