              <text>In the name of God Amen I William Gray of the County of Essex Being in perfect Sence and memory do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament Revoking all other wills heretofore made in manner and form following first all my Just debts to be paid out of my Estate then what worldly goods it has been please god to bless me with. I give and bequeath as follows Item, I lend my loving wife Ann the Land and plantation whereon I now live also the following Negroes during her Life Viz, Ben, Violet, Rachel, Seney, Davey, Cloe, Little Davey, Rhoda, and young Violet. Reserving to old Ben, after he is Fifty years old his Freedom and it is my will that then the said Negro Ben shall be free from her my said wife and Every other person whatever. Item, I lend my Loving wife Ann all my Stock of Horses, except my Gray Mare, all my Cattle and hogs, also all my houshold Furniture During her Life, and at her death the Negroes and their increase (Except young Davey and young Violet) to Equally be divided amongst my Seven Children hereafter Named, to them and their heirs forever, William, John, Andrew, Philip, Rosanner, Elizabeth and Martha Gray But if Either of them Shall die before they Come of Age or marries then the Survivers to divide the Negros and their increase and all the Personal Estate that I lent my wife, Except the Two Negroes above Excessed, Item I give unto my Son William Gray my Negroes Caleb, Beck, and young Davey, and their increase for Ever.               <text>To all whom these presents shall come Know ye that I Elizabeth Jones of the County of Essex in the Commonwealth of Virginia being possessed of a Negro man slave named George Dunkin And whereas by an act of the general Assembly entitled “An Act to authorize the Manumission of slaves” passed at the May Session in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two it is enacted “that it shall hereafter be Lawful for any person by his or her last will and Testament or by any other Instrument in Writing under his or her hand and seal attested and proved in the County Court by two Witnesses or acknowledged by the party in the Court of the County where he or she resides to emancipate and set free his or her slaves or any of them, who shall thereupon be entirely and fully discharged from the performance of any contract entered into during servitude and enjoy as full Freedom as if they had been particularly named and freed by the before recited Act. I the said Elizabeth Jones for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five pounds Current money of Virginia to me in hand paid by the said Slave George before the signing &amp; Sealing hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Doth for myself my heirs Executors and administrators by these presents and by virtue of the before recited act of the General Assembly Emancipate and set free the aforesaid slave George Dunkin forever and do declare the said Slave free and discharged from his servitude and that he may acquire Property possess and enjoy it, and his Freedom and Liberty in as full and Ample manner as the Citizens of this Commonwealth In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and Affixed my seal the Twenty eight Day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two.&#13;

I Hannah Davis of the County of Essex and Parish of Saint Anns, being sick &amp; weak in body, but in perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, and calling to mind the frailty of this mortal life, do make &amp; ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner as followeth making void all other wills formerly by me made.&#13;
Item I desire my negro girl Lilly may be bound to Clary Davis until she arrives to the age of eighteen years, at that age it is my desire that the said Lilly should go a free woman from the said Clary Davis and ever after be free from slavery and enjoy her freedom and liberty; all the rest of my estate I desire should be sold by my Exrs and after paying my just debts &amp; funeral expenses, I give the whole of my estate then left to the said Lilly, provided she obtains her freedom, but if she should not obtain her freedom by this my will, then I give her the said Lilly with all my other estate unto the said Clary Davis and her heirs forever. &#13;
Lastly, I do constitute and appoint William Webb Sen’r &amp; said Clary Davis Exos to this my last will and testament to see that the same be executed according to the true intent and meaning hereof as witness my hand and seal this 30th day of Oct’r 1792.&#13;
