              <text>This deed made this 22nd March in the year 1854, between Robert McCandlish administrator with the will annexed of John Hockaday deceased of the first part and Israel Henderson Mercer of the second part, witnesseth that the said Robert McCandlish administrator as aforesaid for and in consideration of the provisions of the will of John Hockaday deceased, and of the decree of the Circuit Court of the City of Williamsburg and County of James City, made last July in suits depending in the said Court, does by these presents assent to the devise of freedom to the said Israel Henderson Mercer as set forth in said will, and he does by these presents release and discharge him from all service forever. In witness the hand and seal of the said administrator the day and year aforesaid.&#13;
