Claiborne sen’r of the County of Brunswick and State of Virginia of the one part and his slave Fredrick Rivers of the other part, witnesseth that whereas Watkins Samford under the will of his brother William Samford dec’d has emancipated Lucy Ann the wife of the said Fredrick Rivers & her children, and they are shortly to be sent out of the state and the said D.J.
