              <text>I John White of Sussex County Virginia do manumit &amp; set free from bondage my three negroes (to wit) Bob aged twenty three, Roger aged seventeen &amp; Lewis aged fifteen years the third day of the sixth month last, Roger &amp; Lewis to be freed as soon as they shall severally arrive to the age of twenty one years, and hereby secure both their persons and the estate they now have or may hereafter acquire &amp; defend them against myself, my heirs &amp; every other person or persons claiming by from or under me.               <text>In the name of God amen I John White of the County of Albemarle and state of Virginia being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form as follows.&#13;
1st It is my will and desire that all my negroes old and young male and female (their names being too ? to mention) also their future increase shall be liberated and free from the bondage and contract of all persons whatsoever to act and conduct for themselves at their discretion.&#13;
2nd It is my will that my estate consisting of the tract of land where I now live a tract whereon James Edwards lives and acts in the capacity of overseer and a tract whereon Jesse [?Mason?] a tenant lives also my stock of every description house tools and kitchen furniture plantation utensils and whatsoever may be found on my possessing shall be sold for ready money and disposed of hereafter will directed.&#13;
3rd It is also my desire that my executors after accomplishing the above desires shall pay of all [illegible] authenticated demands purchase such [illegible] as they may deem assential [sic] for their accommodation on the road and employ such a man as they can place confidence in to export the above liberated negroes to the state of Ohio and there to purchase as much land for said negroes as the amount of the money accruing from the sale of my estate will buy with the exception of money enough to furnish such articles that man may think proper they should have such as tools. It also my desire if laws of that estate shall be in opposition to free my negroes [illegible] with in limits of said Estate that the man employs shall be bound by my executors to carry these (the said Negroes) to any part of the united states or the [illegible] thereof and act as above directed and also to see the best title made said negroes as is his proven oath.&#13;
4th I give and bequeath unto James [Gukee] two hundred and seventy acres of land lying in the state of Kentucky bounded by Twines [illegible] south line on the waters of Green River in Hasting County. I also give unto said Gukee what he stands indebted to me. Lastly I constitute and approve James Linsky and James Ferrell to this my last will and testament. I also injoin on the said Lindsay and Ferrell to settle and collect all debts due me as [illegible] as possible and such demands as cannot be collected in time for the aforesaid negroes to depart I wish sold for the best [illegible] that can be obtained in ready money and appropriated to the use before mentioned. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of November eighteen hundred &amp; six.&#13;
