To all whom these presents shall come greeting; no you that in pursuance of the provisions of the&#13;
last will and testament of Charles Lambert late of the county of Bedford in the state of Virginia&#13;
deceased of whom I William A White of said county and the sole acting executor the other&#13;
executives nominated in the said last will and testament to wit Thomas Sales and David Douglas&#13;
having declined to qualify as such; either said William A White the acting executor aforesaid to&#13;
hereby assent the legacy of freedom bequeathed in the said last will and testament to the&#13;
following persons of colour late slaves of the said decedent, but in virtue of the said last will and&#13;
testament and of these presents are now entitled to their freedom namely David, Randolph senior&#13;
Randolph junior Peter Hank, Jordan, Ishans, Billy, Albert, Ben, Alvin, Calohill, Spottswood,&#13;
Bob, Lewis, James, Hawkins, Aggy, Amy, Caroline, Nancy, Lucinda, Milly, Alice,&#13;
Mary Anne, Martha, Matilda, Nelly, Catherine and Frances also Caroline, Amanda and&#13;
Alexander children of Nancy also George and Watson children of Lucinda also Nancy child of&#13;

of Virginia do hereby certify that on this day William A. White acting executor of Charles&#13;
Lambert decd. party to a certain deed bearing date this day to wit the 23rd of September 1843&#13;
and here to annex came personally before us in our county aforesaid, and acknowledge the same&#13;
to be truly his act indeed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the clerk of the&#13;
county of Bedford aforesaid in order that the said deed may be there recorded given under our&#13;
hands and seals the 23rd day of September 1843.&#13;
