I Barbara Wilson of the County of Bath and State of Virginia being in health and perfect mind and memory thanks be to god and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that its appointed for all man once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament.  That is to say first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of the Almighty God that gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named. And after the payment of my funeral expenses and all my just debts I will and dispose of the residue of my estate both real and personal in the manner and form following. That is to say, in the first place, I will to my sister Elizabeth Wilson all the land that I may be entitled to as one of the heirs of my sister Susanna Wilson deceased with all my wearing apparel to her, her heirs and assigns forever. I also will to my said sister Elizabeth a mulatto woman slave called Catty with her two children to wit Peggy and Andrew during the natural life of my said sister Elizabeth and at her death it is my will that the said slaves Catty and her said children shall be free and emancipated to all intents and purposes. I will that my slave Lucy and her children to wit Sally, Benjamine, Strother, Patsy and Nancy at my death be set free and emancipated to all intents and purposes and I also will that at my death my woman slave called Sally shall be free and emancipated also her three children (to wit) Jane, Betsy and Washington to all intents and purposes – I will my tract of land called and including the big spring to they before mentioned slaves (to wit) Catty and her children Peggy and Andrew, Lucy and her children, Sally, Benjamine, Strother, Patsy and Nancy and to Sally and her children Jane, Betsy and Washington to be equally divided between them in quantity and quality to them, their heirs and assigns forever. I also will to they above mentioned Catty, Sally, Lucy, Patsy, Nancy, Benjamine, and Strother to each of them one cow and heifer to them, their heirs, and assigns. I also will a tract of land lying on the south side of the old tract and granted to me for [blank] acres to the above named Benjamine and Strother to them, their heirs and assigns forever and I also will to the above mentioned Lucy one bed and furniture.
