Know ye that I Mason Charity of the County of Surry for divers good causes and considerations, me thereunto moving, but more especially for the natural affection which I have and bear to my slave Jeffery, sometimes called Jeffery Hart, purchased of Henry Hart, hath emancipated and set free, and by these presents doth emancipate and set free the said slave Jeffery sometimes called Jeffery Hart, in as full complete and ample a manner as if he had been born free. And I do moreover for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators exonerate and discharge the said Jeffery from all and every claim from personal services from this day until the termination of his natural life.
